How Veneta is Contributing to a Greener Earth

At Veneta®, we believe in sustainable living and are proud to play our part in creating a greener future.

Sustainable Materials from Sustainable Plantations

The slats from Veneta® Timber Venetian Blinds are made from wood from the Paulownia or Kiri tree. This species is one of the world's fastest growing trees and sawn timber can be harvested in less than 10 years. After harvesting, a new tree can grow from the original stump using the well-established root system, which means there's no need for post-harvest clearing, which can lead to land erosion and the resultant runoff and river salinity. This extraordinary capability has bestowed on this species the common name "Phoenixwood".

Phoenixwood is not only a fast-growing and sustainable choice for our Timber Venetians, but its trees also act as natural air purifiers. With their giant leaves, these trees remove large amounts of carbon dioxide from the atmosphere and replenish it with oxygen. Plus, the leaves that drop each winter release nitrogen and increase soil fertility.

Veneta® Timber Venetian Blinds are also available in a select range of Osmo natural and eco-friendly stains. Our Osmo range is made from natural plant oils and vegetable waxes that penetrate deeply into the timber slats, providing durability and rich colour that also protects against degradation over time in our harsh Australian climate

Our Plantation Shutters are also crafted from sustainably sourced engineered wood composite (EWC) grown to the highest standards of environmental protection. We only cut trees as quickly as we grow them, ensuring that we maintain a sustainable balance.

Reducing Your Energy Consumption with Thermally Efficient Honeycomb Blinds

We also offer thermally efficient Honeycomb Blinds. Veneta® Honeycomb Blinds feature an efficient, insulating pleated design that significantly reduces your air conditioner's workload, as well as your carbon footprint. These blinds are designed to trap air in their honeycomb structure, providing a barrier against heat transfer, which makes them an excellent choice for those who want to reduce their energy consumption.

At Veneta, we believe in creating a sustainable future by offering eco-friendly window covering options that help reduce our impact on the environment. We strive to create products that are not only beautiful but also contribute to a cleaner, greener planet.
